Who we are

Deindex is operated by Deindex Pty Ltd, a company registered in South Africa. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

What we collect

When you request an audit or contact us: your name, email address, company name if you provide one, and the URLs or search terms you submit.

When you become a client: the above, plus information necessary to deliver the engagement, which may include evidence relating to the content in question, correspondence, and billing details.

Automatically when you visit: aggregated, non-identifying information about site usage, including which pages are viewed and how visitors arrived at the site, collected through Cloudflare Web Analytics.

We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Why we use it

We do not sell your information. We do not use it for advertising. We will not add you to a marketing list on the basis of an audit request.

Who has access

Access is limited to personnel who need it to deliver your engagement.

We use service providers who process data on our instructions, including cloud hosting and infrastructure, email and document services, a customer relationship management platform, and payment processing.

We do not share your information with any other third party except where required by law, or where sharing is necessary to deliver the specific work you have instructed, for example submitting a removal request to a platform.

International transfers

Deindex Pty Ltd is based in South Africa. If you are located in the United Kingdom or European Economic Area, your information will be transferred outside those regions.

Where such transfers take place, we rely on appropriate safeguards, including contractual commitments requiring a standard of protection equivalent to that required under UK and EU data protection law.

Cookies and analytics

This site does not use tracking cookies and does not run advertising or profiling technology.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how the site is used. It measures page views and traffic sources without setting cookies, without fingerprinting your device, and without collecting information that identifies you personally. We cannot use it to track you across other websites, and we cannot connect it to your identity.

Because no tracking cookies are set, this site does not display a cookie consent banner. Any cookies present are strictly necessary for the site to function, which is permitted without consent.

How long we keep it

You may ask us to delete your information sooner. We'll comply unless we're legally required to retain it.

Your rights

If you are in the UK or EEA, you have the right to request access to your information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion, restriction of processing, portability, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

To exercise any of these, email info@getdeindex.com. We respond within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or to the supervisory authority in your country.

Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls limiting data to personnel who require it, and confidentiality obligations for everyone with access. No system is completely secure, but we take the protection of client information seriously; it's central to what we do.

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected in the date above.
